Get a second monitor!

The NY Times stated in a 2006 article that productivity increases from adding a second monitor could be as much as 20-30%. Let's say those numbers are high, and we'll use 10%.

If you work the typical 280 days a year, and spend half of your time in front of a computer, that means you would recapture 14 days of productivity for selling. That's almost three work weeks. If you don't make your sales goal with nearly 13 months to work with, you should spend some more of your free time on this site :)

I would venture to say that your use of the computer and online resources has increased since the article was written in 2006. The amount of time we multi-task has also increased. Do yourself a favor - stop switching between windows and start working side-by-side. You might even have time for a vacation this year!

I personally use two Westinghouse 24-inch Monitorsalt in my setup shown below.

Monitors

For any readers who share my tendencies for neatness (some might call OCD), I built this cable-free desk setup using parts from IKEA for less than $50 (including desktop, legs, cable minder and the lamp).

I agree with you, 2 monitors make a difference. I love having my email, IM client and to-do list on one monitor, that way i can always keep an eye on them without switching windows. Also if you want to increase your productivity get yourself a comfortable chair and an ergonomic keyboard.
